Inspection of engineering systems is a set of measures carried out to assess their current condition and functional capacity, compliance of engineering systems with the existing design and (or) executive documentation, applicable standards and rules, as well as suitability of engineering systems for further operation, upgrade, or repair.
Inspection of engineering systems is usually carried out in four stages:
• preparation for inspection;
• preliminary (visual examination);
• detailed (instrumental examination);
• expert conclusion (description of identified problems and correction methods).
